WELCOME TO MY BLOG

Don't be fooled by the grim-faced picture. It was the only unblinking one. For me, words are worth a thousand pictures. I'm looking forward to saying hi to all of you.

In a Russian restaurant in Brighton Beach

You see what I mean about my husband, Bernie's hair in my last post? He used to have thick, wavy, dark hair that I never bothered with much. But somehow now that it's shaved, I can't resist running my hands over his scalp. I was telling a woman at a party about it, and next thing I knew, she walked over to him and began rubbing his head. I got so jealous. I'll tell no one about how great his scalp feels again! Well, I guess I did tell you, but please, if you see him, no matter how hard it is to resist, please don't run your hands over his head. Thanks.

What an adorable couple! Your previous post was soooooo beautiful (and funny at times). You are both blessed :)

Had to laugh reading this post as our oldest boy(13) has very coarse hair that doesn't grow out very well...so he has been shaving his hair in a buzz cut for years now...

Every time he goes to school with a fresh 'cut' the girls (including me, HA) can't resist running their hands over his head. There's just something about it, I can't resist! We are going to give him a fresh shave and then he's going to dress up as 'Mr. Clean' for Halloween...HA.

Camerone, I can relate, except it's my kiddos, more so than the husband, who do not want to be written (or talked) about, they'd hate this post, lol.

Oh, yeah, Rochelle, where are my prunes? ;)

Hi, Andrea and Camerone, So happy you left comments. Most of the time I feel as if I'm writing to the air. Camerone, my husband doesn't even know about my blog. So, sue me, right? Love Rochelle

Hello Rochelle- "we" have decided to refer to my husband currently referred to "he who shall not be named" to "DH" for darling husband- a friend gave me the idea and husband likes it...he is now a regustered lurker as opposed to a lurker. Feel free to check it out Andrea- I totally miss my online classes!! send me an email at camerone.thorson@gmail and I can forward you the link since of course I don;t know it off the top of my head...

Maybe my mistake was telling my husband I was bored and had decided to figure out how to blog in between work assignments and school which doesn't start until June since we have exchange students from Paris coming in Dec when classes were supposed to begin but c'est la vie...keep blogging Rochelle!

I miss teaching my online classes. I have a break until December. I'm thinking for this summer of making a class of personal essay collections that stand as memoir. The thing that worries me is that people will take that without my other classes and won't have the background to do it. I felt the loss in students who took intermediate without taking the first class. Best, Rochelle

That's why I started blogging to follow in your footsteps at a much more limited approach Rochelle- to hopefully establish a connection and feed off of other writers...one word at a time, one strand of hair at a time, one cueball at a time, one tooth at a time, etc. etc.

Intro to essay is critical to grasp the essence and fully appreciate the art- or have students submit writing samples - more work for you but helps in identifying solid folks- just a thought...
